Explore the Hakuba Goryu Alpine Botanical Garden — on a Trail Rider

What's a Trail Rider?

Born in Vancouver, Canada, it’s an outdoor wheelchair — a single-wheeled design built to help people with a range of disabilities enjoy the outdoors.

There’s something simple but brilliant about feeling the wind as you move under your own steam. We want everyone to feel that, including those who find walking difficult — and the Trail Rider makes it possible.

The Trail Rider is a single-wheeled outdoor wheelchair, steered by two people using handles at the front and back — so it can handle slopes and uneven ground with ease.

Air-filled tyres take bumps in their stride, and disc brakes keep downhill sections under control. The backrest, footrest, and armrests all adjust too, so you stay comfortably secure throughout.

Our staff will guide you through the garden.
