Make the most of your visit at Hakuba Goryu Snow Resort!
FIRST TIMERS: Snow Season
Welcome to Hakuba Goryu!
Visiting a ski resort for the first time is exciting, but it can also feel a little daunting. To help you plan your trip, we’ve gathered the key information you need on this page. Hakuba Goryu is a great fit for trips with family, friends, or a partner, and just as perfect for solo adventures. We can’t wait to share it with you.
Two Base Areas to Choose From
Hakuba Goryu has two main entry points.
- Toomi/Escal Plaza Side: Choose this side if you’d like to base yourself at Escal Plaza, our huge base centre that’s open 24 hours. Ski and snowboard rentals, hot springs, shops, and restaurants are all in one place, and the gondola to the summit departs from here. Daily night skiing starts here too.
- Iimori Side: Choose this side if you prefer the more compact Iimori Base Center. With its wide, gentle slopes, it’s recommended for ski school students, beginners, families, and anyone who’d like to get ready in a calm, uncrowded setting. There’s plenty of room to meet up with your group, which is reassuring for families.

Exploring the Terrain of Hakuba Goryu
Getting Around the Slopes
Straight to the Summit
Take the Gondola “Goryu Telecabine” for a short 8-minute ride up to the summit area, Alps-daira at 1,515m. From mellow beginner slopes to steep powder runs, this is the perfect place to start for anyone at any level.
One Ticket to Hakuba47
With a Goryu lift ticket, you can ski right from the summit over into the neighbouring Hakuba47 Winter Sports Park. One lift ticket gives you access to two ski resorts and 24 runs in total.
Recommended Route for Advanced Riders
Take the gondola up to Alps-daira first thing in the morning and enjoy the perfectly groomed snow on the Grand Prix Course and the steep powder run on Expert. Then head over to Hakuba47’s technical runs and parks. It’s the classic route for experienced riders.
Goryu Playground
Ride the waves as if you're surfing, or try your own tricks on the jibs. We've created three distinctive parks and courses to suit your level and mood. In a playground with a variety you won't find anywhere else, find a way of riding that's all your own.
Night Skiing
Goryu Night Skiing is a magical playground after dark. The slope is groomed and reset every night, with gentle runs that everyone can enjoy. Night skiing is open every day of the season.
